AI Assistants (MCP)
Troubleshooting
Most connection problems are fixed by starting the connection again from your assistant. Find your situation below and open it for the fix.
Connecting
Section titled “Connecting”“This authorization link is no longer valid”
The link from your assistant expired or was already used. Authorization links last about 10 minutes and work once.
Fix: go back to your assistant and start the connection again. You’ll get a fresh link.
“Authorization cancelled”
You clicked Cancel on the consent screen, so no access was granted and your browser didn’t return to the assistant.
Fix: if you meant to connect, start the connection again from your assistant and click Authorize access.
“Something went wrong”
Tutorial AI couldn’t record your decision.
Fix: try again. If it keeps happening, start the connection again from your assistant.
The consent screen shows the wrong account
Check Signed in as on the consent screen. If it shows a different email than you expected, don’t authorize.
Fix: click Cancel, sign out of Tutorial AI in that browser, sign in with the right account, and start the connection again from your assistant.
The option to add a connector is missing
- Check your assistant’s plan. Some assistants only offer custom connectors on paid plans. See the notes for your assistant in Connect Your AI Assistant.
- Ask your admin. On business and enterprise plans of some assistants, an admin has to allow custom connectors first.
- Look for a new menu name. Assistants rename these settings often. Search your assistant’s settings for Connectors, Custom connector, or MCP server.
Using your assistant
Section titled “Using your assistant”My assistant doesn’t use Tutorial AI
- Turn the connector on for this chat. Most assistants let you choose which connectors a chat can use, in the + or tools menu.
- In Cursor, use Agent mode. Check that tutorial-ai shows a green dot in Tools & MCP.
- Mention Tutorial AI and the project by name, for example In Tutorial AI, read the script of Onboarding walkthrough.
My assistant can’t find a project
Your assistant sees exactly what you see. If you can’t open the project in Tutorial AI with the same account, your assistant can’t either. Check the consent screen’s Signed in as email, and ask a workspace admin for access if you need it.
My assistant lost access
If you revoked access in Connected apps, or your assistant says it can no longer reach Tutorial AI, reconnect it from the assistant. You’ll see the consent screen again.
My edits disappeared
If you edit a project in Tutorial AI while your assistant is changing the same project, the later save wins. Let your assistant finish, then make your own edits — or the other way round.
