TutorialAI has just received a major update aimed at making your video creation workflows faster, smoother, and more intuitive. Whether you're building step-by-step guides or tackling complex explainers, these new features streamline your process from recording to editing and scripting.
This article outlines the improved audio alignment tools, the powerful Auto-Cut editing function, the new integrated AskAI toolbar, and the flexible option to add custom time markers within your scripts. You'll also learn best practices to leverage these enhancements, helping you produce polished, professional tutorials with ease.
Revamped Audio Recording and Alignment
We've redesigned the audio recording workflow to minimize post-capture editing and make your narration more accurately synced to your screen actions.
When you start a new screen capture, choose record audio at the beginning of your workflow. This captures narration in real-time, which helps TutorialAI match spoken words to on-screen actions.
For guides with complex workflows (not just linear, step-by-step tasks), always record audio alongside your screen. AI may not always infer the nuances or intent through screen actions alone, especially for explainers.
For new uploads, improved audio-sync accuracy is automatically applied, saving time during your editing phase and giving you a tighter result with less manual adjustment.
Auto-Cut Functionality in the Cut Tool
Manual editing to remove unwanted pauses can be tedious. Our new Auto-Cut feature, part of the Cut tool, streamlines your entire editing process to produce more fluid videos with minimal effort.
After finishing your recording, open the Cut tool from the main interface.
The Cut tool analyzes your recording and detects unnecessary idle moments and pauses. To quickly clean up your video, press AUTO-CUT. Any cuts you previously marked will remain intact, while all identified idle moments are automatically removed from your timeline. Review the trimmed video to ensure pacing fits your narration and visual content, then proceed with other edits if needed. Auto-Cut can be run again after additional tweaks.
AskAI Toolbar: Integrated AI Script Suggestions
Previously, many users relied on outside AI tools like ChatGPT to generate or revise scripts. TutorialAI’s new update brings the power of AI directly into your scripting workflow for faster, more seamless editing.
Scripting is now handled directly in the script editor, with AI suggestions contextually accessible as you write or revise. Inside the editor, you’ll find the new ASKAI toolbar.
Use the options to enhance, shorten, or extend existing scripts, adjust tonality, or optimize text for different publishing channels.
For unique needs, enter a custom prompt right inside the editor. AI-powered changes are automatically integrated, including existing markers—meaning you no longer need to manually reapply time or highlight markers after every edit. The result is much faster, iterative script updates with perfect synchronization.
Adding and Using Custom Time Markers
Not every point in your narration will correspond to a visible click or on-screen interaction. Use custom time markers to highlight or sync narration with any moment in your video, offering you finer editorial control.
To add a marker, open the THUMBNAIL RAIL below your video preview. Move the playhead to the exact moment in your video that needs to be referenced. Click the plus + icon to create a new custom marker. The marker is immediately added to your list of available markers.
To sync a part of your narration, simply drag and drop the new marker into your script where you want the timing to match. This is especially useful for calling out parts of the screen that are important but that you haven’t interacted with via a click. You can also align visual elements (like a highlight rectangle) to a specific custom marker in the timeline, providing a polished way to focus attention.
Best Practices for Next-Level Tutorial Creation
For simple, step-based documentation, capturing narration and screen together is usually sufficient.
For educational or process-driven explainers, make full use of audio alignment and custom time markers to both pace and clarify your message.
Use the AUTO-CUT feature to quickly polish raw screen captures before adding in overlays, highlights, or external media.
Take advantage of the ASKAI toolbar to refine scripts without having to reintroduce timing or highlights.
Mix scripted and ad-hoc narration by using custom time markers, so your tutorials precisely match the information you want to convey—regardless of on-screen interaction.
With these features, you can increase both the speed and the accuracy of your video tutorial workflow, producing content that’s clear, concise, and compelling.
