How to Translate Your Google Doc

Google Docs is a powerful tool for creating, sharing, and collaborating on documents. Selecting Text to Translate

  • Begin by opening your Google Doc and locating the paragraph you'd like to translate.

  • Highlight the text you want to translate using your mouse or trackpad.

Accessing Add-ons

  • Go to Extensions in the top menu of Google Docs.

  • Select Add-ons from the dropdown menu.

  • Choose Get add-ons to open the Google Workspace Marketplace.

Searching for a Translation Add-on

  • In the Marketplace search bar at the top, type "Translator" to browse translation tools.

  • Look for Slides Translator among the available options.

Installing the Slides Translator Add-on

  • Download and install the Slides Translator add-on by clicking its card and following the authorization prompts.

Translating Your Google Doc Content

  • Once installation is complete, go back to your Google Doc and highlight the text you wish to translate again.

  • Click on Extensions in the menu bar.

  • Select Slides Translator from the list of installed add-ons.

  • Then click Translate in the dropdown or sidebar that appears.

  • The add-on will process the selected text, which may take a moment depending on the amount of text.

Choosing Your Target Language

  • After processing, select the language you'd like to translate your text into. A list of available languages will appear.

  • Click on the language you want to use for your translation.

Completing the Translation

  • Then click Translate to initiate the translation process.

  • The text should instantly be translated into the language you selected. Your translated text will now appear, maintaining your document’s formatting.
