  • Once you open the menu, several sharing choices become available to help you quickly distribute your file.

Copying the Link to Share

  • Select Copy Link to quickly copy a direct link to the current page of your Excel file.

  • You can now paste this link in an email, a chat, or anywhere your recipient will see it.

  • This method is best for fast sharing, but keep in mind that anyone with the link may have the default access set for your document.

Using the Share Feature for More Control

• Click Share for additional sharing options.

  • Within the sharing menu, choose what level of access you want to grant:

  • Set permissions to Viewer if you only want others to see the file without making changes.

  • Select Editor to allow recipients to make edits directly to your workbook.

  • Pick Commentator if you want others to leave comments without changing the actual data.

  • After setting the appropriate permission, click Copy Link to generate a new link that shares the file with the selected access level.

Sharing the Link

  • Paste the copied link into your preferred communication platform, such as an email, instant message, or another collaborative tool.

  • Let your recipients know what access permissions they have and provide any necessary context about the file.

Tips for Secure Sharing

  • Be mindful of who receives the link, especially if the file contains sensitive information.

  • Review your document’s sharing settings and permissions regularly to ensure that only the right people have access.

  • If needed, you can always change or revoke access to your Excel file from the sharing menu.
