Today, I'll show you how to remove duplicates in Google Sheets.

  • To get started, select the row or rows you want to clear.
  • Simply click on the row you want to work with to highlight it.
  • Go to the Data menu at the top of the screen.
  • Scroll down in the Data menu, select Data cleanup, and then pick Remove duplicates.
  • Once the Remove duplicates window appears, you will see options for which columns to check. You can choose to check specific columns if you do not want to compare the entire row .
  • If you want to make sure the top row (such as a header) stays unchanged, check the box for Data has header row. In this example, it isn’t necessary, so we’ll leave it unchecked.
  • Click on Remove duplicates to proceed.
  • After that, Google Sheets will scan your selection. All duplicate entries will be deleted, and you’ll see a message popup showing how many duplicates were found and how many unique rows remain .
  • For example, if there were two rows labeled "yes," only one will remain after running the remove duplicates tool, and the duplicate "yes" row will be deleted .
